Did You Know…

EVs use a regular 12-volt lithium-ion battery? It's true. But instead of using it for starting or ignition, it powers the traction motor while the lead-acid battery powers the electronics, such as the A/C and dashboard lighting.

Nissan Battery Warranty1

When it's time to replace your battery, choose a Nissan Genuine Battery that's backed by an 84-month limited warranty1 and meets your vehicle's original specifications.

Battery Life is Determined by Two Factors1

  • Charge Amount
  • Heat Damage

A typical car battery cannot handle being drained to 50%. It's made to send a lot of amps all at once and get fully recharged. However, if it stays drained, the active components on the lead plates will harden and die. So if you ever need to jump start a car, the battery may be damaged and needs to be replaced.

Just as rough roads chip away at your tires, heat from summer weather or overcharging will chip away at your battery's ability to hold a lot of power, which means it may not have enough to start your Nissan when winter strikes.
